In any health practice,
syringes are necessary. They are used in so many ways, and can pile
up very quickly. No matter what your profession is, if it pertains
to the medical field, you should be educated about used syringe
management. Not only should doctors and nurses be aware of syringe
disposal, but so should lab technicians, hospital cleaning staff,
and home health professionals. Proper used syringe management is
the only way to keep yourself and all your patients safe from the
spread of disease. Those individuals who use syringes at home should
also be aware of proper syringe management. The second thing to remember when dealing with used syringe management is the handling of the syringes after they are used. Only trained personnel should transport used syringes in hospital settings. Gloves should always be used, and proper transporting containers should be utilized as well. In a hospital or doctor’s office, these syringes should be placed in a syringe oven, to melt and sanitize them. Home health care personnel should also have access to a syringe oven through their company’s health facility. If you are using syringes at home, you should ask your doctor how to dispose of them properly. Finally, used syringe management ends with proper
disposal. Syringe ovens are the best way to ensure you are disposing
your syringes and needles properly. Once they have been melted and
sanitized in a syringe melter, you might choose to recycle the needles.
Contact your local government to see if this is an option for you.
If you choose not to recycle, the syringes can be disposed with
other trash. Used syringe management usedsyringemanagement [ Return to infomation center ] Related topics:Syringe melting oven Want more information?
